ACC Transform_Ed Booklet

I designed the Transform Education booklet for Austin Community College, created for the Transform_ED conference and developed in collaboration with the Teaching and Learning Department of Excellence. This booklet highlights ACC’s commitment to improving the future of student education, showcasing insights gathered through surveys and outlining strategic options for growth and innovation. The design focuses on clarity and engagement, making complex information easy to navigate while maintaining a professional and cohesive visual identity.

The Design Process

For this project, I focused on creating a visual direction that felt futuristic, modern, and connected to the idea of AI in education. I started by researching visual styles, typography, layouts, and imagery that could communicate innovation while still feeling approachable for an education-focused audience. I wanted the design system to be flexible enough to work across multiple platforms, including the booklet, presentations, website assets, and social media.

Finals Designs

For the final design, I created a booklet for Transform Ed’s Teaching Learning and Excellence division for an upcoming event focused on how education is embracing AI to help develop students further. I developed a visual system that could extend beyond the booklet and become a larger brand direction for the event.

The Challenge

The challenge was to create a booklet that introduced an emerging and complex topic while making the information feel engaging, modern, and easy to understand. The design also needed to work beyond the booklet, with visual elements that could be adapted for presentations, web assets, and social media content.

The Solution

I created a futuristic visual identity centered around AI, using bold typography, modern layouts, and graphic elements that could easily be adapted across different formats. I designed the booklet first, then used the visual language I developed to create additional presentation graphics, website assets, and social media content. This allowed the project to feel consistent across multiple platforms while giving each asset its own purpose.

Reflection

Through this project, I learned how designing one strong visual system can create opportunities for an entire collection of graphic assets. What started as a booklet expanded into presentation designs, web graphics, and social media content. I really enjoyed taking the original concept and finding new ways to apply it across different formats while keeping the overall look consistent. This project also gave me more experience designing for a real organization and thinking about how graphic design can support a larger communication strategy.
